I've thought about this for a while, and I've decided that I'm going to start making some of my posts protected. I was thinking of using my blog for this, but they don't offer protection , so I'll stick with Xanga for now.

The reason I want to do this is that there's a lot of prayers and personal things that I think about during the day, and I'd like to make sure they get put down somewhere. So I'll make it like a prayer journal. I like this better than paper and pen because I tend to express myself much more freely when typing rather than writing. Don't worry, I'm not depressed or anything bad like that. I'm going to keep it mainly for myself and possibly later on for trusted friends and accountability partners so they can continue to pray for me and counsel me, but if I think something I write is worthwhile, I'll make sure to make it public so you all will be blessed by it.

So no, it has nothing to do with problems with everyone stalking me and reading about my life...

I'll continue regular posts like I usually do (although I sort've want to migrate off xanga to another blog service someday)

I'm taking a quick break right now from revising my Writing 140 essay on "the ethics of sex selection using criticism of at least 3 sources" I don't think I'll be getting a B on this essay like I did last time.

It's still kinda feels strange that most of my friends, especially at UCLA and UCD, are just starting college (not even starting class yet though), and I've already taken midterms! Feels like I've been here for an eternity, or at least the food is making it seem like that.

I found a long, lost cousin!!! He used to live in Marin County, but now he's in LA. And he's married and is...a youth pastor!? Haha, yeah, so Pastor Byron Jung asked me on Sunday if I knew how to write my name in Chinese, so I found out and emailed him the character, and he said it's the same way he writes his last name in Chinese. that's so weird!

Okay, enough messing around, time to get back to more essay writing and studying.

First off, I want to say again that God is good! It's so amazing to see how I have been seeing the work of God over and over and over.

Today was such an amazingly crazy day. I cannot believe all this stuff happened in just a single day. Here's the highlight reel:

Friday, 7 PM (i know it's not today): Went to Alhambra to shop at Ranch 99 and eat real chinese food! yummm, i sooooo miss chinese food. thanks, marco, for the ride.

Saturday, 1:45 AM: I go to sleep
Saturday, 1:55 AM: Fire alarm goes off in NRC, I wake up half-asleep, grab only my keys, and evacuate. First floor I see 50-year old smelly sprinkler water flood some girl's dorm like hurricane katrina.
Saturday, 2:45 AM: Dressed in only my PJ's, standing in the cold for nearly an hour with other girls and guys from NRC dressed in togas, pirate costumes, and shirtless (the guys that is), we learn that someone who may have been drunk hung a strand of beads from the sprinkler and that another person yanked the beads, breaking the delicate sprinkler head, signalling the alarm and causing 1/5 of the freshmen population at USC to evacuate.
Saturday, 3:00 AM: Me and Eric decide to go to Leavey and do nothing
Saturday, 3:30 AM: Me and Eric come back to the NRC entrance and wait some more in the cold
Saturday, 4:10 AM: We're finally allowed to go back to sleep, so we walk through the first floor swamp and fall asleep to the sounds of the NRC fire siren being tested for the remainder of the night
Saturday, 11:00 AM: I put on my USC shirt and head over to UCLA with Ryan to help him move-in (and to answer the obvious, yes I received many many comments about my style of t-shirt). I quickly say hi to Chris, David, and Nelson
Saturday, 5:45 PM: Stuck in traffic on the I-10.
Saturday, 6:00 PM: Arrive (fortunately) on time to the greatest run I have ever seen! The Nike Run Hit Wonder is a run that's given me 2 free DRI-tech shirts (the 2nd was another "God is good") and 2 (soon 3) pairs of DRI-tech socks. It's a really good 3.1 mile course around USC, through the frats, and around Exp. Park. There's indie bands playing on a stage every mile or so, and lots of free water and gatorade. And the finish is amazing...you run straight through the same tunnel that USC, UCLA, the LA Raiders, and the LA Rams run/ran through at the start of every home game! It's a site to see nearly 60,000 people all in bright green DRI-tech shirts running through the streets of LA.
Saturday, 6:52 PM: I finish the course with a time of approximately 38 minutes EDIT: According to my chip, my official time was 35:43!
Saturday, 7:00 PM: I hang out with Anthony around the coliseum drinking water, propel, and gatorade, and eating bananas.
Saturday, 9:30 PM: church rides still aren't looking good. i pray for the 4th time specifically about this. I have faith God will work things out.
Saturday, 11:45 PM: God is good! Thanks be to God for a couple friends of mine as an answer to prayer. You can probably guess what happened!

First day of fall means the start of the television season! Here's what I've been watching so far and my take:

Tuesdays:
My Name is Earl - it's a pretty funny show. Not without some innuendoes, but it's better than a lot of the shows out there. They compare it with Desparate Housewives, but cannot stand DH, nor have I seen it (sorry ruth, i know you watch it), so I can't really compare. I really like the concept though, trying to apologize for past mistakes, no matter how outrageous they were (e.g. cheating through the 7th grade-twice)

Wednesdays: No live TV tonight! It's all recorded or downloaded!
LOST - oooh man, i love this show sooo much! the season premiere was so good, so mysterious. definitely my favorite show. 'nuff said about that!

E-Ring - The first episode was pretty good, but I realized that it's not an ongoing plot. Somehow I'm used to the serial dramas like Lost, so I'm wondering how character development is going to work. But I'm a huge Jerry Bruckheimer fan, I like stuff about spies and national security, and I like the stern type of humor that Dennis Hopper contributes. Benjamin Bratt's character is sort've annoying though. We'll see how this one plays out over the next few weeks.

Thursdays: No live TV again
E.R. - an old favorite, but still going pretty strong. Haven't watched the premiere yet, but it's currently downloading on my computer. It will be interesting to see where things go with a younger cast.
EDIT: just finished E.R. pretty good so far; this episode had a lot of good character development.

Somedays:
CSI - I heard the original CSI premiere was really good, but I didn't get a chance to see it or download it yet. I don't watch CSI faithfully like I do Lost, but if a new episode of any CSI is on and I'm not busy, I'll flip to it.

Curious:
Commander-in-chief - is it a liberal feminist show?
Inconceivable - just heard about it a couple days ago, sounds sort've interesting
Threshold - cousin told me about it, plus it stars Brent Spiner.

What is everyone else watching this fall?
